arivuchudar Nursery & Primary school was established in 1994 by Mr.S.SIDDARTHAN, influenced by his father Mr. Shanmugam Maruthamuthu, as a mentor and founder of our school. His father was a retired government school headmaster. Mr. Siddarthan, a social activist and freethinker, initiated our school at the age of 31, with the main motive to provide, quality education to the rural kids and thus our school embarked its social service on education. When started, it was the only English medium school in and around Marungulam. Mr.P.Vembaiyan, a close friend of Mr.Siddarthan was appointed as the first Head teacher of our school. Our school began with 10 students in a small area in a small hut in a private space donated by Mr.Ponnurangam. Our school comes under the trust “Kalaivanar Charitable and Educational Trust”. Over the years our school imprints it’s notable achievements in all aspects with the support and active participation of our school Students & Parents, Staffs, Masters, Educationists, family, friends, relatives and good-hearted people around us.
Later in the year 2014, our new school building construction was started, in our own land.

Mr.Dr.K.Veeramani, President of Dravidar Kazhagam, inaugurated our new school building in the year 2015.

Mr. SHANMUGAM MARUTHAMUTHU, a social activist influenced by Dravidian leader Thanthai Periyar and served in many Government schools as a headmaster, played a pivot role through out his career in the educational field servicing Rural areas of Thanjavur district.

Our school correspondent, Rtn. S.Siddarthan, is a social activist and freethinker attracted towards “Thanthai Periyar’s Dravidian Ideology” same like his father, started our school with the aim of educating the rural people of Thanjavur. As a social worker and educationist, he holds many positions and titles in various unions and organisations. He is well known widely among people for his social works, arts & cultural, Tamil language skills, bold, honesty, friendly & service attitude.

Mr.Siddarthan, the correspondent of Arivuchudar Nursery and Primary School,an all rounder of his time,believes that “Education is the most powerful weapon,which you can use to change the world”.We offers a broad balanced education-academic,artistic,practical and physical.
